Brief Description: Riveted the Flap Fairings to the Fuselage
Riveted the Flap Fairings to the Fuselage. Prior to riveting, the interior surface of the fairings and the adjacent surface of the fuselage were primed.
The last rivets at the aft end of the fairings were a pain because the shop head kept folding over or some other poor riveting results. I needed to install doublers and use some Oops Rivets. The problem is that the rivets emerged from the holes on an angle because the holes were drilled perpendicular to the fairing but not peripendicular to the fuselage. It seems that many of the rivets on complex or compound curvatures of the fuselage cause similar problems.
