Brief Description: Triming off large flat platic pieces of the canopy
At some point you decied to just dive in. I heated up the hangar into the upper 60's and found the advise about putting a space heater under the canopy, some of the best advise.
To make sure that I didn't lose the markings from Van's tracing of the finished canopy, I put electrical tape around the perimeter following the tracing. My hope is that it will hold up a bit longer, but with the cold it might not prove effective.
I set up the canopy on the work table, supporting the canopy with cross rails I started using the cutting wheels provided and a compressor. After a degree of frustration at my provress and the thick wheel cut, I moved to a drummel and the cutting wheels. After a few test strips I began again and found the thin wheel much better. I tried to keep symmetry on each side of the canopy (My fear was that one side with start flexing much more than the other. --no idea if this really makes a difference, however, my first full run around the canopy was a success.
Resperator mask and eye protection a must (I even had plastic frags in my ears)
