I have made the following parts with the help of Dusan, a good friend;
Chrome molly sheet 32 thou, dimensions 90mm X 200mm, bent to fit onto the front face of the aileron and then extend back onto the bottom of the aileron to spread the load. This will be installed and centered onto the 2nd outboard rib, the rib after the attach rib for the push rod.
Two lenghts (11 inches) of 6061-T6 streamlined tubing (25mm diameter) and two metal inserts (4mm x 19mm) that slide into the tubing.
The metal inserts where tig welded onto the face of the chrome molly sheet.
The arms of the balance tubes will extend forward of the ailerons at an angle of 45 degrees.
Balance weights will be cast (tear drop shaped) and fitted to the ends of the tubing.
Total weight so far is 230 grams per unit, now I need to work out how much lead I will need to add to mass balance everything.
