Last Saturday I decided that it would just be a fun day, no testing, so I did 60 minutes of circuits and then went for a nice 30 minute fly around the Hunter Valley, it was a bit hazy but lots of fun, Kevin a friend with a Jabiru came along and we managed to take some air to air photo's.
On the way back I opened the engine up to max rpm 3050 at present, and got a strait and level speed of 135 knots indicated, this is improving each week as the engine starts to loosen up, if I can achieve rpm in the 3100 range I think I will stay with this prop.
I also added the new fibreglass elbow for the intake to the carb, and this has smoothed out the engine in the rpm range above 2600. Next weekend I will try going back to the original needle supplied by Jabiru to see what difference this makes to performance and also to engine temperatures.
