Brief Description: Fiberglass tips on horizontal Stabalizer
After taking the EAA composit construction class along with multiple seminars and videos both at Oshkosh as well as online; I had ordered materials from Aircraft spruce as well as Amazon. Picked up some plastic bins from Walmart to get my materials organized. Today was the day I opened up the Resin and Hardner Twisted the pumps into place on the cans and began the fiberglass work.
I though I would start out with some of the simple pieces like the fiberglass tips on the horizontal stab. I used some aluminum with a small bent up 90. Applied mold release. Taped the wing tips down to the aluminum. Mixed up a small batch, added some filler. Wet down two layers for each tip and poured in a small base layer of expoxy. Applied the two layers of glass on each tip and left it in Jenny's studio to cure
