Brief Description:  Designing the avionics rack system

Downloaded all of the specifications for each of the components to design the avionic tray/rack system.

I had a cockpit design that I had played with for the past few years. (Most especially after Oshkosh 2018. I have gone back and forth on glass, steam guages, or mixed.) I landed on a glass cockpit after flying a Diamond DA 40 last month. That resulted in sending out my deposit to Midwest Panel builders to get their help. I had interacted with Steinair, Saratoga, Cheif, and a couple others. MidWest was patenent enough and made me feel most comfortable that they knew what I was looking for and would work with me through the process.

So this last week, in front of Christmas I have been back and forth with Steve at MIdWest who has been very patient with me and informative. Since I have cut an access panel between the baggage compartment and the avionics area I shoudl be able to pull the rack out the front for future issues battery replacements or transponder needs etc. Steve and I agreed that a tray/rack would work the best, so I set out to design the racks and try and finalize the location plan.

I also bent up a full size piece of alluminum to represent the tray/rack spanning from the forward cross support to the rear support angle in the avionic area. (I actually bent up 6 pieces before I landing on my final version, that I will build out tray/rack.
