Brief Description:  Built the access rotisserie

After reviewing the post on the Van's Airforce site and looking at the advantages of taking some time to build one, it felt like the right thing to due, since my wife can no longer lift the fuseage.

Labor day sale at Harbor freight, I picked up a 2000 lb engine stand. Went down to the shop and cut the main support. I also notched the main support, bent and welded the arm back vertical. It's been a while since I been welding. But took a couple practice passes and it went well. I attached 2 pices of 2" x 2" angle iron to extend the main support arm 12" I was able to pin the inside of one of the pieces and then the outside of the other. I used 1 1/2" x 1 1/2" angle iron to extend the mouting arms.

I started building the tail support, but My wife gave me some excellent advise to build a cradle instead of a support, since the cargo racks in the garage provided an excellent support to attach a tie down strap. I simply used a ratched strap and cradled the tail. After stinging up the tail and getting everything bolted up, I'm able to turn the full fuselage, with some effort, by my self. (Really happy with the results. However, what I thought would be a 4-5 hour project turned into twice that, I should have expected it would take the day.)
