Used a simple hack saw to cut 1/8" from final length. Then used my belt sander circular disk to sand to final length. To assure a 90 degree end I made sure the sanding table was set to 90 degress to the disk. I also clamped a small 2x4 to the table at right angles to the disk. I finished by useing a scotch bright pad to smooth out the ends.
