Brief Description:  Drill rudder bedal center brace and bearing block.

Its time to mount the F-6118 center rudder pedal brace. I first just clamped it to the fire wall and adjusted it so that the top surface where the bearing block is mounted has the same angle as the end stiffeners where the end blocks are mounted. This is important so that the center bearing block will fit flush on the brace and will stay flush when the rudder pedals are moved for or aft to the other 2 adjustment locations.. I had to make a different angle on the forward edge of the brace to get the matching angles.

Then I clamped the bearing block to the brace and marked hole locations for the brace on the firewall angle. I then drilled through the firewall angle. Most drill from the other side put I didn’t want to use the 90 degree drill and I thought it would be better to get the holes exactly where I want them on the firewall angle. I first drilled with the small #40 then enlarged to #30. Worked good, glad I did it this way.

Next I drew the center line on top of the brace but moved it over 1/16” to keep the center bearing block away from the weld. Simply clamp the block and match drill the brace through the block. Move the rudder pedals to all 3 adjustment locations and drill again.
