Brief Description:  Both rudder pedal weldmenst are bent.

My rudder pedal weldment bars are bent. Just over 3/16” at each end on both bars. You could tell using a straight edged yard stick that the bow was concentrated at weld spots. I put the bars between 2 saw houses and sat on them. My 165 lb was not enough so I bounced really hard about 10 times. I think they are acceptable now. Hope I did not compromise them by bouncing on them that hard.

Using the straight edge you can see that the bars are bent at the weld locations. My procedure fixed all the bentness on the interior weld locations. But I still have 0.4 degrees bend on the outer weld locations.

But a Vans post said that the only thing that matters is that the 3 points in bearing blocks be in line. Who cares about in-between these locations? So, I measured the bow as in image 2. Don’t measure as in image 3. I put the ends of the pipe in the center bearing block and clamped it. This way I could spin it 360 degrees and the pipe would not move around. Then I used a straight edge and took note of the distance between the pipe and straight edge as I rotated it. I bounced on it until the distance between the pipe and ruler were constant. I got it done.
