Brief Description: F-623 Corner rib - Prep the ribs.
The 623 has 3 sides. 2 sides are straight and one side is curved. This curved side is at the forward outside and follows the contour of the side skin. This curved side must be fluted as is showed in image 2. Image 3 shows the result of the fluting. Nice flat ribs.
Now, how do you determine the location of the flutes? They are dependent on the rivet holes but this rib is not pre punched. So, you cleco on the side skin and mark on the rib through the skin rivet holes the location of the rivets. Then you can flute in-between the rivet marks.
Also note that after fitting on the side skin you notice that the outside flanges are not at 90 degrees. They stay just about where they are at about 100 degrees. So, don’t adjust the outside rib flanges.
