Both ends of the 623 rib are trimmed. Looks like Vans’s had an after thought because the forward end has this little jog that makes you think they had originally wanted the 623 rib to fit on top of the 705 bulkhead flange. Now it seems you just cut it short and make a strap.
I didn’t use the DWG at all for my straps. I came up with my own idea. My straps are riveted on with 4 rivets instead of 3 and the one rivet at the end has much better edge distance then the DWG straps.
Notice the little jog on the lower side of the strap. This is to keep material around the single rivet that goes at the end of the strap. I’ll trim the strap to the proper length after its drilled.
