Brief Description:  F-704 BH - Bolt on control sticks.

Once the holes are all reamed to proper size it's time to bolt the control sticks to the F-704 BH (Bulkhead). Easy enough. The hard part is now to come up with washer spacers that go on each side of the F-633 control column mounts. Remember earlier we drilled the F-633 control column mounts to the spar. If you drilled the holes incorectly the the number of washers and the thickness used will be affected.

The plans have you use 960-10 washers. Looking in my part bin I actually have 3 thickness's of these washers to work with. a Normal 960-10 and 2 thickness of the 960-10L. Weird that the 960-10L comes in 2 thicknesses. Good thing because I needed them.

2 tools are assential here. The temporary #3 bolts from Avery and the washer wrench. It would be very difficult or impossible to get those washers in there with out these tools.

Image 1 shows the tempory bolt being used.
Image 2 shoes the washer spacers in place and also the washer wrench holding a washer.

The trick is to do the thin washers first because the washer wrench is thicker then the thinnest washer. If you do the thickest first three is not enough space left for the washer wrench.

On the right side I have a number 10 and 10L on each side. On the left side I have a 10, 10L and 10LL on one side and a 10 on the other. All is good. To replace the temport bolt with a resal AN bolt is easy. Just push the bolt in the the tempory falls out.
