These pictures show that the elevator horns are not parallel. We’ll need to make a spacer block exactly equal to the distance between these horns. Well, how the heck can that be none if the horns are not parallel. Take note that we don’t want the horns perpendicular to the surface of the HS skin. The angle between the skin and horn is slightly greater then 90 degrees. Just sayin.
Image 3 shows how I bent the horns parallel to each other and each horn has the same number of degrees between the horn and skin. It didn’t take much pressure at all. Now my drilling spacer block will fit nice.
I can see if this is not adjusted then your spacer block could easily be set at a angle to the HS causing your holes to be in the wrong position. Later when you tighten your bolt through these holes the elevator horns will go out of adjustment.
