Brief Description:  Layout Forms

Image 1, shows the tools I used for marking the lines. .5 mm Mechanical pencil, 300mm long .05 incremented scale, 30-60-90 triangle with parallel lines scribed at .060 and .125 from each edge (allows for quick accurate positioning of the triangle), and a Magnifing glass (the eyes aren't as good as they used to be).

Process: Square up the triangle, Position the scale .5mm less to allow for the lead diameter, strike a mark on the verticle line.

Next you need to connect all the marks using a French Curve, (or if you are lucky like me you just pull down the Body Sweeps (Image 2) from your employers wall) and build the curved line by finding the best fit between 3 points. Start with pt.1, pt. 2, & pt. 3 for the first arc, then use pt. 2, pt. 3, & pt. 4 for the next best fit, and only draw the arc from pt. 3 to pt. 4. Continue this process to create a smooth blended line from many small arc segments.
