Using the template I made last night, I laid it out on the bottom half of the stabilizer skin. I then drilled pilot holes (#40) and made the cut outs for the front spar attachments. Next I placed it on the bottom surface of the stab and aligned things very carefully before drilling the 1st hole at the middle of the rear spar. Did the entire spar line, then the ribs and finally the front spar rivet line. Next I expanded all holes to #30 to accomodate the A4 rivets. After deburring and priming, I was able to rivet the bottom side. Things pulled into place very nicely and I'm very pleased so far. Now if I can duplicate my success on the top side, I'll be very happy.
Drilling pilot holes through my template
Straight lines in the right places!
A peak inside after flipping it over. Everything seems level and solid.
