The left hand fiberglass tip for the horizontal stab was badly twisted and bent in towards the elevator in my kit, so I had nothing to loose by attempting to bend it back, given I had previously made a mould of the good stab tip. So I placed it on the bench with the tip packed up and applied pressure with my hand while heating the rear surface with a heat gun. Once the fiberglass starts to smell, you can feel it start to give way and bend to a new shape, I had to let it crease quite badly to bring it back into line with the elevator as you can see in the first image, tomorrow I'll rough these areas up and apply fiberglass filler and sand it back into shape. WIth this done I installed the rear cover plate, and then made up some strips of aluminium which I flush riveted in place to allow the rivets from the horizontal stab to bite into something other than fiberglass.
