The weather was interesting this morning, but I managed to get up for a few circuits to warm the engine up so that I could change the oil and filter.
After the oil change, I replaced the Jabiru supplied (Kubota tractor regulator) with a Power Mate rectifier/regulator, because I was getting an over voltage alarm on my radio, the Kubota regulator was putting out 14.8volts at max rpm. I am pleased to say that the Power Mate puts out a nice constant 13.8volts and has made the radio very happy.
My engine has also been running a little rough above 2600rpm, so I replaced the 2.90 needle jet with a 2.85 and managed one circuit which gave me improved rpm on climb. I only managed one circuit though because of all the storm cells in the area making the flight a little bumpy. I will try again tomorrow morning, at present I can’t really report if the roughness has gone.
I am also hoping to complete my accelerated stall tests tomorrow so will also post those results.
