Brief Description:  Paint repair

I am sure that there is a painting deity that is looking down on me and deciding that I need more practise with my painting skills. If your listening, I think I have the rubbing back bit down pat by now, so I gather its the paint application part that I need to work on.
Anyhow, I have prepared the surface by first rubbing it back with 600 grit and then 1200 grit wet and dry to give me a nice flat transition between paint layers, which will I hope ensure that there are no humps evident when I recoat this area.
I need to apply some etch primer to the aluminium areas which I'll do with a brush and then flatten down with some more wet and dry, probably tomorrow night. The next step will then be to mask up just the outboard panel so that I can apply a coat of white, which when dry will be followed by yellow. Before doing this however I am going to buy some low tack painting tape, the adhesion qualities of the stuff I am using are immense, and I am sure you could safely tow a car using it without fear of it letting go.
