This morning was just perfect for painting, so I got out there early and prepped and masked the wing so that I could complete painting the top leading edge. It all went really well until I pulled the Blue 3M masking tape off. At the tip of the wing for some reason the etch primer had not bitten into the metal and when I peeled the tap away the paint came with it. I am really not sure if this was due to poor surface preparation or something else, anyway I can't think what else I could have done or what I did wrong. Enough of the personal beating, I am going to have to rub this section of the wing back and re-spray it, I hope that I'll be able to blend it into the rest of the paint by rubbing it back with wet and dry and then polishing it, guess I'll find out. The most disappointing thing is this coat of paint came out beautifully...
