Brief Description: Right wing fairing completed
This evening after another 4 days of plaster and fibreglass lay-ups, I pulled the right fairing from its plaster mould. I guess because of the wet weather and also because I was becoming impatient, I didn't let the plaster dry as much the second time around, so when I removed the fairing, it took lots of plaster with it, which basically means that I have a little more scraping and sanding to do to get rid of the unwanted bits of excess weight. I am really pleased that after trimming the right fairing to size, that the two fairing shapes ended up looking pretty much the same. Once installed on the fuselage you should not be able to notice any differences. Now I need to start the job of smoothing the outside surface in preparation for primer etc.

The two fairings side by side, the right fairing (new one) is on the left

Lots of plaster came off with the right fairing when I removed it, some tidy work still to do

Another view, I managed to get the shapes pretty close, its a lot of work, hope its worth it
