I have put together a proto-type as an attempt to create a dual throttle system for the XL. So far it seems to work, the actual arms that are pop riveted to the circular tube and are linked to the throttle cables, are a little to short and will need to be extended but the concept seems to work. Once I am happy with the two throttle sections I'll add a center arm that will link via a cable to the carbie. Then I'll see if I have adequate throw, and that the whole setup is not too sensitive. Once I am happy the whole lot can be converted into something more permanant with welded or brazed components...
