This evening I back drilled the two halves of the step as per the drawings, and then back drilled the two halves into the fuselage sides. Once this is complete you install the step fairing which is the silver sheet of metal that you can see hanging from the rear of the fuselage. This is located according to the drawings 120mm back from the center of the step tube. I now need to cut a slot in each side of the stpe fairing to allow the leg of the step to fit in place and also to allow the front section to be drilled and clecoed in place.
