This morning the engine was unpacked from its box and prepared for installation, and then after a quick trip to Bunnings to buy some large ratchet clamps (2 on special for $10) to compress the engine mount rubbers, we did the deed. Clive and I lifted the engine into place while Anne-Marie and George installed the engine mount rubbers, nuts bolts and washers, it was all over in about 1 hour. I then did as Don (Jab engine guy here in Australia) suggested and poured about a 1/4 of a cup of run in oil into each cylinder and then turned the engine over a few times by hand. He suggested this because I won't actually be flying until April / May so its a good rust inhibitor. I also enquired about delayed warrantee and Don said the warrantee started when the engine was first started, which is great news.
