Brief Description:  Headlight mounting 6

Time to find out if my headlight position will work in with the side angle of the nose. First up was to make a dummy instrument panel (IP). I was pretty surpised to see how small it is! How in the world am I going to fit all those lovely glass instruments to it.

Using my long spare ruler I can now see the angle of the nose and if you look in pic two I have drawn the plans angle on the side of the foam. Seems like my light is too high!

I had a think and feel that the pitot can go a little lower and so can the light. I also need to rotate the whole light mount so the screws end up lower. Half a days fiddling when I feel like a break from other jobs. I may have to trim the top of the mount where I have the white plastic. It should be fine.

Lots of careful cutting and I'm close to the righ spot now. Still some work to ensure the light has full movement.I'm going slowly here as thats quicker than adding material back on.

I checked in my flying plane too and after the canard the nose angle doesn't effect the view so its pretty much asthetics. Sure, there may be some aerodynamic voodoo happening here but if I get less or more drag either way might be correct so I'll just go for a nice shape that works with the light.
