Brief Description:  Wing Cores revisited 3

While the wing was still on the floor. Measurements showed that the FC1 block needed to go down at the outboard end by 14mm. Now I could have left it as is but then the wing tip would have ended up very close to 2" out which is right on the allowable limit and really I'm trying to get this a little closer.

Next I secured the jigs properly to the bench with bondo and in the exact plans position. We then ran a cotton line from one end to the other at the top of the sheer web trough. The idea is to see what the deviation is at the FC1 join, measure that, which turned out to be 22.5mm and then reduce it by 14mm. So what I really wanted was a string line with a 7.5mm gap.

Of course to reduce that gap I have to cut off FC1, put a little wedge in on one side and with the top of the wing still flush glue it all up and we are back in business. Well that was the plan.
