Build start DEC 1 2011 - Today is DEC 1 2013 - Two years building.
The fuselage is now glassed and the nose section on along with the front wheel nearly done. The nose is still to be finished and shaped. The undercarrage was a huge job and I did the tabs three times before getting it right. The axles are installed and wheels in place.
The spar box is completed on the inside and is now just foam on the outside. There is a lot to do yet. I intend to build the wings so I am assured of getting the outside of the spar at the correct final thickness.
The CnC'ed Eureka cores arrived cut into about 14 pieces a side. I have assembled these to 5 pieces a side and are now matching the plans. The 10 cores are in my bedroom under UV protection (black plastic) The next step with these is building jigs and then assembly.
The goal for the next year is to build the wings and spar and join them off-site. I will make the winglets but not secure them to the wings until later. I also intend to install the nose light and complete glassing the fuselage nose section. Everything else is a bonus. I haven't done anything with vaccum bagging at this stage.
