The RV-10 or X-10 is a custom built aerospace experimental aircraft, that I building.
The X-10 aircraft is constructed with aluminum and modern composite materials for both strength and light weight. The X-10 aircraft is powered by a single 260 hp six cylinder horizontally opposed, air-cooled Lycoming IO-540 high performance aviation engine. Converting the 260 hp into thrust, is accomplished by means of a Hartzell two-blade variable (hydraulic) pitch propeller. The X-10’s avionics suite includes a set of 10” Dynon Skyview MFD with autopilot, Garmin 340 communication panel, a GNS 430 GPS w/transceiver and a GXT 327 transponder.
As of Spring 2012 all that’s left to complete is the IO-540 Engine installation.
Sub-Kit #1, Empennage that required 370 hrs.
Sub-Kit #2, Wings (standard build) in about ~400 hrs.
Sub-Kit #3, Fuselage (standard build) about ~500 hrs
Sub-Kit #4, Final Kit about ~400 hrs.
Sub-Kit ##, Firewall Forward (in progress) ~200 hrs.
I am looking forward to completing this interesting and rewarding X-10 aerospace project a few years from now.
