Well, it was truth time. The crack seemed chemically welded just fine. Time to countersink the hole that was repaired and also enlarge it to 5/32 then 3/16. I was nervous. Slow speed. Steady pressure. Bingo. The hole was countersunk just like any of the others. Wow. Then I nervously exanded the hole from #30 to 5/32. Perfect. Then enlarged it to 3/16. You couldn't tell it was cracked. The Weldon 3 softened and then chemically welded the crack together with no evidence. So there I sit with nothing more to do with the crack except smooth the surface line on each side. More on that later. Oh. and I have to inject Weldon 16 in the #48 stop hole I drilled.
