Had my pilot son and grandchildren visiting for awhile so we tackled many more cuts and fittings on the canopy. He got practice cutting with the oscillating saw and did a good job. We probably made 8 or more cuts over a couple days. After he left I sweated out making cutouts in the canopy deck to allow the canopy to transition from underneath the beginning curve of the forward canopy deck to then be on top of the skin as the canopy crosses over the front of the deck skin. Here is the pilot side.
It takes awhile to determine exactly where to make this cutout. Much practice measuring.
The beginning 1/2 inch hole edge is 1 5/8 from edge skin
The 2nd 1/2" hole adjacent to 1st making it a 1 inch wide opening at the bottom.
