Brief Description:  Canopy Frame 16 Flush Fit the Canopy Skin

I was concerned about trimming the canopy glare shield skin flush with the fuselage side because I thought it would not curve in enough to mate up to the fuselage skin. It was so close as I looked at it. But, what the heck, I marked the cut line and tried two methods to trim off that 1/8 piece of extra glare shield. On the co pilot side, I clamped an aluminum angle over the line and used the dremel to cut that 1/8 off. Then I re-marked the 1/32 or so that needed more trimming and used the Vixen file to finish it off. Did I say I love that Vixen file. It worked ok and I was needlessly concerned. The skin pulled in perfectly flush and in alignment. On the pilot side I used a straight edge to mark the trim line and for that 1/8 inch, I just used the Vixen file. There is a production side and then a finish side to the Vixen. It went easily and I was able to watch each stroke and see when I hit the limit. Took about as long either way and for 1/8 inch skin or angle trims, I would use the vixen file before using the dremel. Its finished and for now all my concerns are gone, Who knows what happens when everything gets riveted permanently. I also clipped on a couple more sample weatherstrips at the forward end of the canopy frame. That stuff will work perfect. It has a 1/16 grip over the canopy frame flange and a 3/8 inch collapsible tube. That stuff can nicely compress down to 1/8 total width. I'll use it.
