Brief Description:  Rudder Cable Fairing

Added rudder cable fairings to the rear fuselage. Measured 151 1/2 inches from firewall and 10 inches down from rear deck to mark the center of a 2 inch slotted opening. Used a step drill to make 1/2 inch hole at each end and the Dremel cutoff wheel finished the job nicely. Trimmed down the fairings for a nicer shape, made sure of proper rivet hole clearance vs the slots and J channel, and drilled pilot holes in the fairings, and after holding them in place, match drilled through fuselage skin. Used a couple MK319BS pull rivets on two bottom holes each side that were close to the internal J channel. The rest got AD3-3.5. Hand countersank the fairing, no dimples. Drilled the hose clamp attach screw hole, dimpled it, and primed mating surfaces. Slid rudder cable and snap bushings in place before riveting the fairings.
