Brief Description: Replace F-607 Bulkhead half and J Stringer
Was able to clean, dimple, prime and fit the replacement F-607 right half bulkhead today plus the associated J Stringer on top that runs between F-606 and F-608. Both of the old pieces were damaged by a box dropped on them so after deciding the damage had weakened those two pieces by bending them, I bought new pieces and there they are, all ready to rivet in place. 2 out of the 28 AD3 rivet holes were slightly enlarged in the process. I will put an NAS1097 rivet in those two places. (same head as AD3 but AD4 thickness shaft. None of the 11 AD4 rivet holes were enlarged. I added one more #30 hole in the side brace for more security. Now I can proceed to fit the two aft top skins and have them ready to rivet in place as well, later after I am done crawling around in there.
I was concened about replacement but no problems whatsoever.
Primer contrasts with the factory clear primer but I am painting the inside anyways.
That top J Stringer is now new and straight as an arrow. Yeah!!!
