Brief Description:  F-675 Aft Top Skin 1

This is the 2nd fitting of the F-675. Since yesterday, I knew I had to stiffen the bulkheads with some wood and angles and clamps so when I tightened up the skin those bulkheads would not push forward because of the angles involved. Did that to F-607 and F-608. I also made the F-609 complete by cutting out the 4 inch holes and drilled/clecoed it to the aft deck. Marked a line down the middle of the top skin, drew a line between the tooling holes in the rear F-609, marked the center of the forward (F-607) attach bulkhead and fitted the top skin again, clamping and taping to the general fit. When I got it just right, I took a heavy marker and traced the outlines of the tops of the bulkheads and J stringers. I tried the old fashioned way of removing the skin, laying out a rivet pattern for drilling the skin and then putting it back on to start match drilling. I must have been out of my mind but I came around and did not follow through with that. Instead, I layed out the 1 1/4 rivet pattern on the exposed bulkheads and J stringers then pilot drilled 1/16 all those. Layed out some boards inside, drilled from inside out, standing outside for some, then crawled in and started match drilling the rest of the J stringers from inside, clecoing each one. So, I end day 1 with the stringers drilled and clecoed plus the area between those stringers on the 1st bulkhead F-607. The bandaid on the end of my middle finger will keep the #41 hole sterile overnight while I sleep!.
