Brief Description:  Tunnel Cover (F-741B)

Fabricated the tunnel cover Z brackets per plans. Drilled and countersunk the top plate tunnel cover. Found out that I drilled the last two holes too far forward and decided to drill the last set of holes where they needed to be and then order a replacement part from Vans and use as a template. First Oops. Out about 30 minutes of labor and $5.00 in parts. Lesson learned make sure you read the plans very carefully. In this case the hole spacing was 1-15/32" typical. This means you should check spacing before you drill. I was actually off about 1/32" starting at the third hole from the end. When you add up the cumulative error it was 3/32" enough to make a difference. Ruler graduations at 32" is easy to make a small mistake. See Picture #3 for details.
