Brief Description:  Right Bellcrank and Fuel Pickup and sender assy

Spent Sunday mid-morning rearranging the garage. Moved the 8 ft table to the right side of the garage to make room for the engine mount and engine over the summer. Got two garage bays in use now as I continue the wing construction.

Finished the Right wing aileron bellcrank assembly.Loosened and re-torqued the fuel tank attach brackets. The bolts were on way to tight. Should be between 20-25 inch lbs.

Removed both fuel tank access plates and temporarily installed the antirotation brackets, fuel pickup tube and fuel sender units. Wound up scratching my head for about 20 minutes, comparing the plan to the brackets. Found out that the QBuilders reversed the access plates when they put the screws in. Coundn't figure out how to have the fuel pickup tube bend towards the fuel sump. Light bulb went on and I switched the plates. At some point I will have to rivet the antirotation bracket and proseal the access cover.

I'm going to add a few more cuts on the fuel pickup tube. The plans look like there are at least 8 cuts. The QBuilders only made 5 cuts. One potential issue I saw when I looked at the picture of the sender is that the sheperd hook is face up vs. face down on one of the senders. I will call Van and see if that really matters.

Bench checked both senders with a VOM and got 249 Ohms empty, 32 Ohms full. Spec is 250 Ohms empty and 30.1 full. Spot on with decimal rounding.

Monday's post are just CAD drawing snapshots of what the fuel access plate looks like.
