Brief Description: Cut Slots in Canopy Release Steel Links.
2 steel canopy release links and the canopy jettison handle itself all need slots cut in the ends. Her you can see I clamped the shiaft between 2 blocks of wood. Then presented the shaft to a cut off wheel chucked into the drill press. This worked great.
2 slot sizes are required. 1/16” and 1/8”. I had several cutoff wheels that are 1/16” thick. I used one wheel to cut the 1/16” slot and put 2 of them together to cut the 1/8” slot. No filing at all to enlarge the slot. Slots are perfect in size, consistency and are straight.
