Here again is my fancy dimple table. I actually like it.
Image 2 shows a hole that requires the use of the pulled dimple kit thing. This came with the Avery tool ket. Sure glad it did, not sure how else to dimple this hole. The hole on the other side requires the same. 4 holes total for both skins.
Because of the bend in the skin you need to shorten the nail a bit. After the pull the resulting nail was 1.25" long. So you need to start with a nail about 3/16"" longer for the puller to grab onto. For me and my Stanley puller from Avery, the tool would not eject the short piece still in the puller. All 4 pulls I had to take the puller apart to get the stub out. You can just unscrew the big screw at the top end of the puller. Every thing falls out. The 2 clamper jaw pieces, anvil, spring and short nail piece.
Getting it all back together was another trick. The 2 clamper jaw pieces have to drop down into the gun shaft with out separating. I dropped them together from a pair of pliers. Then the anvel has to be dropped in such that it mates with the clamper jaws just right. Just take note of the position before you drop it in. Insert the spring and screw and your ready for another pull.
I etched all the parts including skins. Ready to prime.
