Brief Description:  Aileron - Cleco on skins and match drill.

Well, I had to pause here. The curved leading edge skin is not shaped at all like the final shape. It is VERY difficult to cleco on. Again I searched the fourms and logs and found nothing that helped. The problem is that when you press the leading edge to align the holes going through the main spar you deform the main spar loosing site of the spar holes under the trailing skin. What the hell. How do yo do this. After sleeping on it, I came up with this procedure.

1.) Have the whole skeleton clecoed up.
2.) Cleco the trailing skin to the end ribs top and bottom.
3.) Cleco the leading curved skin along the spar on the top only.
4.) Cleco leading skin to the nose ribs on the top. Pressure required.
5.) Cleco leading skin to nose ribs on the bottom. More pressure required.

At this point, the leading curved skin is deformed badly. The leading skin holes along the spar are about 1/2" from the spar in the center but close at the ends. If you push the leading skin, in the center, to align the leading skin holes to the holes in the spar, the spar deforms and the spar holes hide under the trailing skin.

The trick is to start at one end close to the nose rib and work you way across. You can't start in the center. When you start, the leading skin is deformed, but work your way across and it will straighten out. Lots of pressure on this thing.

The holes along the spar on the bottom get reamed out from #40 to #30. No big deal. Just take a #30 bit to the #40 holes.

A bigger deal is match drilling the counter weight water pipe through the leading skin. The pipe is hard and I didn't want to use good sharp bits. I had a dull #30 and #40 saved away for this kind of thing. Don't care if I dull allready dulled bits. I started with a #40 at slow speed, high pressure. Lots of Boe Lube. Finished off with a #30 at high speed, low pressure. Again, lots of Bow Lube. Easy, perfect, no problem.
