Brief Description: Ream brake pedals to accept long AN3-56 bolts.
I wanted to drill this #12 hole before I rivet the pedals together. Here I’m using a long 3/16” bit from Home Depot. I think it was 8 bucks or so. I wanted my holes to accept my new ANS-56 bolts I got from Genuine Aircraft Hardware. They were $9.988 a piece. $39.95 total.
When you order from them online they don’t ever tell you the shipping charge. But you do have to select 1 of many shipping methods. I choose Fed Express Super Saver, the first on the list just above UPS ground. Even in the email receipt the shipping charge was never mentioned. When the bolts arrived with a receipt the shipping charge was listed at $13.20. I’m thinking UPS Ground would have been much cheaper.
Another note. These long bolts are larger in diameter then the other #12 bolts I have. They are larger then a #11 as well. They are somewhere in-between a #10 and #11. I hade to re-ream out my pedals and weldments to accept these.
