Brief Description:  Longeron - Sharp bend and twist.

Time for the sharp bend at the 28 1/4" from the front end.

Question - Where do you place the bend line in the vice jaw? Place the line some distance from the end of the vice jaw to anticapate a bend radius?

Here's what I've learned. Place the bend line right at the vice jaw end, and don't use wood blocks to clamp the angle. I used an aluminum strip to protect the angle.

At first I used wood blocks and the bend line actually occured 1/2" interior to the vice jaws. This was un expected. The wood gave way.

Smack the angle horizontally like you did the gentle curve. I rotated the ange 90 degrees as in image 1 and 2 to straighten any unwated right angle bend.

When you preload the angle horizontally, also preload by lifting up to reduce the unwanted 90 degree bend. Lifting will reduce the unwanted 90 degree bend but will not eliminate it. No biggie, after you get your 2 3/4" bend, rotate it 90 degrees and remove the unwanted bend.

Image 2 shows the 2 3/4" total bend distance.

Time to twist. I used 2 wrenches to reduce the chance of deforming the angle where the wrench is clamped on the angle.

I had to twist over 100 degrees to get the 17 degree twist. I used the digital level to measure the total twist.

May have to adjust these guys later, so be it.
