Here I'm just dimpling the stainless steel firewall. Again, both #30 and #40 dimples. Not sure why I used my C-Frame banger instead of my DRDT-2. My brother Steve and I call it an R2D2.
I bought this custom cut foam that keeps the materal up off the dimple set by 1/8". I can then slide the tool or the part and not scratch the part.
I figured this stainless steel is hard and I wanted a good dimple. But it is also very thin so the R2D2 I'm sure whould have done a fine job.
After dimpling I cleaned it with glass cleaner. Wow, looks great. The firewall had oil stains on it from the machine that punched it out.
