Here is the process of riveting on the sender plate wing nuts.
The first picture shows the wing nut held into place with a cleco. The other hole has a rivet. Now. because the holes are larger then the rivet shank, due to counter sinking, the nut plate can move out of center. To get the nut plate centered you just need to push the rivet flush head into the counter sink with your finger nail while moving the wing nut back and fourth. When the rivet sets in the center of the counter sink then the wing nut is centered and you can then squeeze it.
