Brief Description:  Installed F-789 elevator push tube.

Installing the push tube was a challenge at first. It was to long to be fitted in from either the for or aft end. Finally I figured it out. You must remove the rod end bearings. Bummer I just got them to perfect length 10 minutes ago. Then, rather then feeding it forward from the aft F-706 bulkhead, try feeding it forward through the center F-705 baggage bulkhead instead. Once its as fat forward as it will go, it will drop in and then reverse it through the F-706 aft bulkhead. Fits easy this way. No pushing, tweaking, pounding.

Looking at other build logs I see many have interference between the F-789 elevator push tube and the baggage bulkhead. I actually didn’t have interference but I had 1/32 or so separation. I decided to increase this gap to just under 3/32. Just sanded away just a bit. Smoothed it out and re-prim.
