Brief Description:  Elevator trim cable. Drill more holes.

Image 1 shows the 5/8” hole in the forward elevator spar that should have been drilled 4 years ago when the elevator was built. Did you say 4 years ago? Yep, crap, not even half done.
The plans call out the location. Simply drill and step drill up to 5/8”.

Now here is a good one. Image 2 and 3 show the fuel selector/elevator trim cable mount cover. Commonly known as the “Dog House” I think. Anyway, look at drawing 32A. It shows the trim cable passing through this Dog House with out any hole or bushing. Just magically passing right through. The plans don’t mention anything about it either. What’s up with that. I searched the forums and other build logs to see what others have done but found nothing. Nothing at all.

I finally decided to drill a 5/8” hole for a snap bushing on the lower left side. Its 1” from both edges. I find it odd that I couldn’t find info about this hole in the plans, drawings, forums or other build logs.

Am I ready to string the elevator trim cable? Nope not yet.
