Brief Description: Mount HS for hole location marking, again.
Time to mount the HS to the fuselage for trial fit at to also mark hole locations for the forward and rear HS spar.
3 things have to be done to mount the HS in the correct position.
1- HS tips adjusted fore/aft. 2- HS tips level up and down. 3- HS incidence.
Here I address step 1, The HS tips must be the same distance to the fuselage firewall. Lucidly I had 2 of the exact same tape measure. As you can see from the pictures I clamped both ends of the tape. One end to a cleco on the forward fuselage and other end to the tip of the HS. I measures to the trailing edge of the 3rd rivet on the HS. Adjusted to get the same measurement on both tape measures.
