Brief Description:  Fabricate static line clips, Part 1.

Lets fabricate the static line clips. I’m not sure why but I was intimidated to make these. I have never seen anyone else’s web log show how to make these. Plus, I visited my brother Steve and he gave me one of his extra clips. Looking at it psyched me out because he did a nice job and it wasn’t obvious on how to make it. We didn’t discuss how he made his because I wanted to figure it out on my own.

Turns out they are very easy to make and it was actually fast and fun.

Start out by using you fingers to bend the raw strip 180 degrees around a ¼” drill bit.
Then put in a vice and squeeze right at the drill bit.
Now to offset the loop you just use a wood block and smack the loop before you take it out of the vice.

Notice in image 3 the clip is long. That’s ok, we’ll time it later.
