Fabricated a 14ga wire for the VP-X pro J12-2 - 15amp. Pitot Heat. Ran the wire through the plane and out the left side wing area.
During the intial part of the build I decided to go without pitot heat. But with further thought, I decided go ahead and install it. I will need to order the Dynon heated pitot system. Better to be safe than sorry...
These days the GPS's are so accurate that the system can simulate airspeed to the EFIS in the event of a pitot blockage. Dynon uses airspeed (Pitot) in combination with the accelerometers to determine attitude and highly recommend pitot heat for IFR equipped aircraft. So, whats another couple hundred dollars and an addition hour of work at this point.
