I initally drew the perimeter on the table top and was going to transfer it. Instead I pulled out a small sheet of 1/2" plywood and drew it on there then trimmed it. It came out real close to the original layout, with a little bit more sanding it will fall right in.
I used a french curve to blend the transistion (split line)
