I spent today fabricating the miscellaneous canopy frame angles and plates. I actually fabricated a couple of angles that are no longer needed. Van's redesigned the upper channel that connects the rollover bar to the top of the F706 bulkhead. They beefed up this assembly somewhat and incorporated some of the angles into the channel itself by bending out the flanges of the channel rather than riveting separate angles to the channel. At any rate, I wasted some time fabricating some angles that won't be used. Oh well, it's all good practice. Some of the canopy frame angles were a challenge to make. Lots of strange angles to measure and cut and everything needed left and right versions. Just had to be careful inverting everything when making the parts that were not directly reflected in the plans.
